International Collaboration
Supporting Yale University’s strategic engagement with the international community, the Center for Green Chemistry and Green Engineering engages a global audience.
Moreover, GC&E supports the broader goals of sustainable prosperity and economic growth through international cooperation and cross-fertilization.
GC&E are rapidly spreading through both industrialized nations and the emerging economies. In all regions, the Center engages with the network of scientists, engineers, policy-makers, business people, and public health and environmental experts focused on sustainability science on behalf of the greater good.
On-going Activities:
Pan-African Green Chemistry Network
Science is playing an increasingly important role in Africa’s economic and social development. A number of new initiatives and organisations are helping to promote chemistry in education and industry. While there are many challenges associated with delivering chemistry education in Africa, the Yale Center is focused on working with current students and faculty to promote the design and implementation of Green Chemistry to develop infrastructure and industry. This partnership was formalized with a conference held in January 2007 in Cape Town, South Africa organized by Prof. John C. Warner and will continue to develop and strengthen through research and education collaborations.
